Rumpet (also known as Rumpet the Original) is the head butler at Woolsey Castle. He is not a claviger. When the Woolsey Pack relocates to London, Rumpet retires and becomes an innkeeper in Pickering.

Rumpet is pack butler at Woolsey. He suggests light music to help ease Biffy through the change. When Alexia brings the Westminister Hive to take over Woolsey, Rumpet is the one to call the alarm and unlock the silver cabinet so the clavigers can safely recapture the pack once they deal with the octomatron.
Timeless[]
After the vampires took over Woolsey, Rumpet set up in Pickering as an innkeeper. He did not enjoy being an innkeeper, and eagerly returned to the newly renamed London Pack when Floote disappears at the end of Timeless,
Romancing the Werewolf[]
Rumpet retired to a small hamlet ten years before the events of Romancing the Werewolf, on a generous stipend. He became well-known for his prize chrysanthemums, a puce color called Scarlet Moon. He sends a batch of them to the London Pack yearly. He also recommended his replacement butler, Rumpet the second, one of his second cousins.
